Eddie Redmayne Central: Info about the site

Hello to everyone!

First of all, thanks to everyone who visit the site, you are the best.

I wanted to make a post here to let you all know my situation, because I need to talk with somebody and I think some of us are in the same situation. Well, as you may know, I am sick for some years ago; now, I need to stay at home all the time because of this quarantine. I can’t go doctors or go to the grocery because I am a high risk person. Well, this is not bad, I am at home and try to make great things with my sites. A few days ago, my brother (he is also the person who maintain my sites), was fired. Due to the COVID-19 in Madrid (Spain), were I am living, his company is going to close for now until this crisis will be solved. We must stay at home all the time. The good new is that I am going to have a lot of time to do all the things that I want with the site (complete gallery with old photos, write the sections under construction…). But I have a bad new too, due to this, I don’t know if I can maintain the site. Without my brother’s job, I am not going to get any money and I need to pay host montly and maybe renew some domains. So, I would like to ask for your help if you want.

I was thinking too that all the events…are going to close but I have a lot of old stuff to add so, you will see updates, I wish a lot.

As always, if you like this site and want to help this to keep online, please, feel free to go here to donate. Every little bit helps and will be used to maintain the site.

Also, would like to ask if you have any preferences on things that you want to see here. If you have suggestions, comments or whatever, please, contact me.

With love

Anne

‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ & ‘King Richard’ Warner Bros. Productions Are Also On Hiatus: Coronavirus

We just heard that Warner Bros.’ Fantastic Beasts 3 will not be commencing production in London tomorrow due to safety in the current coronavirus climate. In addition, the studio’s Will Smith tennis drama King Richard, which was filming in Los Angeles, is also temporarily stopping.

It has yet to be determined when both shoots will resume.

King Richard, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, follows how tennis superstars Venus (Saniyya Sidney) and Serena Williams (Demi Singleton) became who they are after the coaching from their father Richard Williams (Smith). Jon Bernthal, Liev Schreiber and Dylan McDermott also star. King Richard is set to open the Wednesday before Thanksgiving on Nov. 25.

Fantastic Beasts 3, directed by David Yates, is the continuing story in the Harry Potter spinoff feature series from franchise creator J.K. Rowling, picking up where the second installment left off. Fantastic Beasts 3 is set to open on Nov. 12, 2021.

As with the first two films, the third will take place on new continents, exploring wizarding cultures across the globe. The first Fantastic Beasts film was set in 1927 NYC, the second in Paris and the third film will be set in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The first two movies in the series have grossed $1.47 billion worldwide. Returning are Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore and Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald along with Ezra Miller (Credence / Aurelius Dumbledore), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski), Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein) and Jessica Williams as Professor Eulalie “Lally” Hicks.

Yesterday, we exclusively told you that Warners closed down the UK shoot of Matt Reeves’ The Batman for at least two weeks until the whole coronavirus situation calms down.

Earlier this week, Deadline broke the global news that the studio’s Baz Luhrmann Elvis Presley movie in Gold Coast, Australia was put on hold as that pic’s star Tom Hanks, and his wife Rita Wilson, were diagnosed with the coronavirus. In the wake of that news, Hanks has taken to social media, in addition to his sons Colin and Chet, telling the world that they’re managing and in good spirits. [Source]

Eddie Redmayne On Board for Disney’s “Jacob Marley” Scrooge Movie Directed by Bill Condon

Christmas 2021 can’t come fast enough with this news.

I’m told that Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne has signed up to play the title character in “Jacob Marley,” the Disney Scrooge movie to be written and directed by another Oscar winner, Bill Condon.

With Redmayne in place, offers are going out for the various characters, including Scrooge in this re-telling of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” told through the eyes of Scrooge’s business partner.

They’ve got to use Aimee Mann’s great song, “Jacob Marley’s Chain.”

Tony winner Stephen Schwartz, whose hits run the gamut from “Pippin” to “Godspell” to “Wicked” is writing the songs. Glenn Geller, Dan Jinks, and Greg Yolen are producing.

Fingers are crossed on this one. It’s not like Marley’s descendants are going to show up protesting the veracity of the story or demanding producers credits. I have a good feeling here. [Source]

‘The Good Nurse’: FilmNation Boards Eddie Redmayne & Jessica Chastain Thriller Ahead Of EFM

FilmNation has boarded sales on hot project The Good Nurse, starring Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne.

We first broke news of the thriller in 2018. Based on the book by Charles Graeber and scripted by 1917 scribe Krysty Wilson-Cairns, Tobias Lindholm (The Hunt) is set to make his English-language feature directing debut.

Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa is producing with FilmNation. We hear the film is being budgeted at around $30M. It was previously being set up with Lionsgate but is now on the open market.

The pic tells the true story of the pursuit and capture of Charlie Cullen, a nurse who is regarded as one of the most prolific serial killers in history. Now called “Angel of Death,” Cullen was a married father who was thought to be a responsible caretaker, but his secret compulsion to take life led to his implication in the deaths of as many as 300 patients over 16 years, spread across nine hospitals in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Redmayne will play Cullen, who was caught by two former Newark homicide detectives who wouldn’t let go, aided by a nurse who worked alongside Cullen and risked her job and family’s safety to stop him. Chastain will play the nurse whose dogged pursuit helped end the killing spree. [Source]

Eddie Redmayne Says Felicity Jones’ Role Made The Aeronauts “So Compelling” to Him

Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones are together again. But this time, it’s Jones who’s taken on the physical transformation.

It might not be visible to the uninformed eye at first, like Redmayne’s was for their first film together, The Theory of Everything, but Jones had to take on grueling training and perform insane stunts for her role in The Aeronauts. Jones plays a 19th century hot air balloon pilot named Amelia Wren who won’t let anything hold her down—literally and figuratively.

The movie blends fact and fiction in a captivating way. Redmayne plays real-life meteorologist and astronomer James Glaisher and Jones plays the fictional, fearless and famous daredevil, a crowd-pleasing and stronger-than-she-looks hot air balloon pilot. The film revolves around the pair’s attempt to ascend higher than any humans in history. For Jones, it’s about the flight. For Glaisher, it’s about revolutionizing meteorology. It is an amalgamation of real events, with a fictional character at its helm.

“It’s a strong film based on historical facts with fiction involved,” Redmayne explained. “Felicity’s character is based on a woman named Sophie Blanchard who was basically Napoleon’s aeronaut and her husband died—like Wren’s did—and she kept ballooning and became this huge superstar, like Wren,” he said.

Aspects of their flight were very real, like seeing butterflies and hearing noises from London’s streets thousands of meters above the ground, but they were pieces from many different flights, “not from the Glaisher flight,” Redmayne explained. “All of that was true, it’s all from this book called Falling Upwards. It’s almost the greatest hits of 19th century ballooning.”

Eddie Redmayne on fantastic new adventure in ‘Aeronauts’

After battling demons in the “Fantastic Beasts” series, Eddie Redmayne takes to the skies, literally, in “The Aeronauts.”

A salute to late 19th century pioneers, “Aeronauts” tells of the danger, glamour and spectacle that was ballooning.

But did Redmayne really go up in one?

“Usually films are about hot-air balloons but this is a gas balloon, and in Britain they haven’t had gas balloons for many years. So they built this gas balloon for the film in Germany,” Redmayne, 37, explained.

“Felicity (Jones, who plays the balloon pilot) went over there to train with the actual ropes (she climbs on the inflated balloon).

“On our first day filming, we were in this gas balloon; a pilot was hiding in the basket. Felicity and I are in costumes. We take off, helicopters and drones are filming. It was staggeringly peaceful and beautiful.

“As the helicopter filmed, Felicity very bravely went up into the hoop. Then the helicopters left and we had to land.

“Only because you can’t guide it, we were now about to bump into a bunch of trees. So the pilot in order to get ballast is throwing out sandbags and we lifted and missed the trees. We’re good.

“And then,” Redmayne said with a smile, “I’ll never forget the guy’s face, he went white — ‘We’ve thrown out all the sandbags!’ ‘You told us to throw out the sandbags!’

“We’d missed the trees but trying to land again we had no way to avoid the trees — and that’s exactly what happened. We came careering into this tree, smashed and went from total silence to carnage. Felicity’s head snapped back into the campaign chest. And there was silence.”

Redmayne, speaking in Jones’ quiet voice, whispered, ‘I don’t think I can move my leg.’

“This,” he said cheerfully, “was Day One of filming.”

Added Jones, “Cut to the ambulance.”

“Aeronauts” has Redmayne as James Glaisher, a determined if fearful scientist aboard a 19th century balloon flight piloted by Emilia (Jones), whose husband Pierre died during a flight.

“Emilia reminds him, ‘Look at the world out there.’ What I loved about their relationship,” Redmayne said, “it felt unusual. Is it romantic? At moments it leans towards that.

“But this isn’t an obvious romance, it’s two people with their own demons helping, pushing each other.

“We’ve both played love stories previously, but this felt unique in its complexity.” [Source]
